Sanibel Pier Fund
As a result of Hurricane Ian in 2022, the Sanibel Fishing Pier sustained significant damage and now requires repairs. Based on initial estimates, the Charitable Foundation of the Islands (CFI) is partnering with the Sanibel Island Fishing Club, the Rotary Club of Sanibel and Captiva, the Sanibel Captiva Conservation Foundation (SCCF) and the Sanibel Captiva Chamber of Commerce to raise the funds, which will be granted to the City of Sanibel for the restoration effort. With the combined efforts of these organizations, the goal is to preserve this iconic piece of the island’s heritage, benefiting not only the Sanibel community but the larger Lee County area as well.
This initiative will ensure that the pier remains a valuable resource for future generations to enjoy and help maintain the island's unique character.
